Any FDM/FOQA program requires considerable effort to configure the tools to process each fleet data type, to identify the correct tail number, airports, runways, METAR reports, flight plans, etc. In addition, automatic characterization of data quality at the data file, parameter, and sample levels saves much time and avoids errors in later stages of analysis. Flight data must be “deidentified” to protect the identity of flight crews. Special handling may be required to analyze FDR data separately for annual validation.
